GRPL Sizing Guide

Sizing guide

All measurements below are taken from the garment itself — not the body. To find your size, measure yourself first, then allow a little extra room for the compression fit. If you're between sizes, size up.

Important — these are garment measurements, not body measurements. A garment chest of 35 inches means the actual fabric panel measures 35 inches laid flat. Your body measurement will be smaller. Use the fit tips below to cross-check before ordering.
How we cut our gear. GRPL uses a competition cut — built to stay put through scrambles, deep guard, and takedowns. This means a closer fit than standard athletic wear. Measure first, then order.

How to measure yourself

Use a soft tape measure against your skin, not over clothing. Pull snug but not tight.

Step 1

Chest

Around the fullest part of your chest, level all the way around. Then compare to the full chest garment measurement.

Step 2

Waist

Around your natural waist, just above the belly button. Compare to full waist garment measurement for shorts.

Step 3

Front length

For rash guards — from your shoulder to where you want the hem to sit. Compare to front length column.

Step 4

Outseam

For shorts — from the top of the waistband to the hem. Compare to outseam length column.

Rash guard sizing

Measurements are from the garment laid flat. Your body chest measurement should be smaller than the full chest column — that gap is your compression fit. Allow 1–2 cm across all measurements.

Size Half chest Full chest Front length
Youth S 38 cm 76 cm 55 cm
Youth M 40 cm 80 cm 57 cm
Youth L 42 cm 84 cm 60 cm
Youth XL 44 cm 88 cm 63 cm
S 44 cm 89 cm 65 cm
M 46 cm 92 cm 68 cm
L 48 cm 96 cm 70 cm
XL 50 cm 100 cm 73 cm
2XL 52 cm 104 cm 76 cm
3XL 54 cm 108 cm 78 cm

Full chest = half chest x 2. Allow 1–2 cm on all measurements. Measurements are from the garment, not the body.

No-Gi shorts sizing

Fit tips from the mat

Between sizes? Go up. Our competition cut runs close to the body. Sizing up gives you a slightly more relaxed compression — you still get the performance, without the restriction.

Garment vs body measurements. The numbers in this chart are from the garment laid flat — not your body. Your body chest measurement should be noticeably smaller than the full chest column for a correct compression fit.

Wearing your rash guard under a gi? Size up so your arm movement isn't restricted when gripping. The compression still holds — it just has a little more room to breathe under the jacket.

Shorts feel secure but stiff at the waist? That's the anti-slip waistband doing its job. It should feel firm, not cutting in. If it's uncomfortable standing still, go up one size.

Youth sizing note. Youth XL and Adult S have similar chest measurements but different proportions — youth pieces are cut shorter through the torso. If your young grappler is tall for their age, compare the front length column carefully.

First wash. GRPL gear may feel slightly firmer after the first wash — this is normal and settles after 2–3 wears. Wash cold, hang dry to preserve compression and print quality.
